BRINGING BACK THE GROWL (2024)

Rumination on the failure of Oppenheimer (2023) to evoke any historical sensibility | Short 15"
This experimental film emerged from a deep disagreement with a friend. There is something curious about Christopher Nolan’s mastery of the science fiction genre and the inability to grasp the historicity of the scientific impulse going big. Hence, Nolan’s film is absorbed in detail yet misses the central tension – the core of Oppenheimer’s predicament. Perhaps because he himself is a “scientific” director in method? Reproducing this impulse as seen with his toying with the time-space since Memento? My work proceeds in the opposite direction. Interested viewers are invited to engage with the result.

I didn't like Oppenheimer at all. What's wrong with me?
